The current publication again provides statistical data in tabular format on the most recent historical fertilizer nutrient supply and demand balances as well as a five-year forecast and is based on the August 1995 assessments by the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Industry Fertilizer Working Group (the "Group"). Global and regional data are presented for the three main fertilizer nutrients: nitrogen, phosphate, and potash. A brief introduction supplies some background on the activities and composition of the Group and explains its methodologies used for the projections.
